Chief's Report March 2, 2006

1.     ISO status. We’re down to one leaky valve on Pumper 963.  The engine overhaul for Tanker 982 is complete but there are some brake upgrades that have to be made.

2.    Runs/pageouts by month see summary on Chiefs Report Page

3.    Ice Rescue Course.  Seven of our members attended an ice rescue course in Hartsel.  We are now trained in Ice Rescue but do not have the necessary equipment to perform rescues.

4.    Service Truck project.  As a result of a Homeland Security Grant to Park County, we have received six brand-new Scott Air 4.5 SCBAs.  This will help in outfitting the Service Truck and represents an investment of about $ 18,000.

5.    The Colorado Wildfire Academy is in Cortes in June.  I am attempting to get as many of our volunteers to attend as possible.

6.    EMT Class.  We currently have seven students attending the class.  We have to move some budget monies around to cover the costs of the class.  I will be applying for a mini-grant from RETAC funds to help offset this cost.

7.    Medical Director’s Report
