Chief's Report October 5, 2006
  1. ISO status.  We have a lot of work ahead of us and a lot of training to adequately perform these exercises.  We are planning all day training on the 21st where we will practice pump operations and moving water.

  2. Runs/pageouts see summary.

  3. School Incidents.  We have developed a basic plan for responding to incidents at the Guffey School.  This will be refined after we meet with the Sheriff and integrate our plans with those of Law Enforcement.

  4. New Pumper project.  Chairman Stanley, Treasurer Tilton and myself presented our case for a new pumper to the Gaming Impact Board.  We did get a favorable response but have not received a contract yet.

  5. As a result of the Platte Canyon incident, Sheriff Wegener has been contacted by the Governor’s Office to determine what it would cost to improve communications for first responders within the county.  This means upgrading to an 800 mhz system.  It’s unlikely that this project would come to fruition due to the immense cost of equipping all of the agencies within the county with this expensive equipment; but it may serve as a basis for future grant applications.
