Chief's Report December 7, 2006 |
1. ISO status. We will be postponing water movement exercises until the
weather breaks and we no longer have to worry about freezing pumps and
appliances.
2. Physician Advisor: Our former Advisor, Dr. Moore, has retired and has been
replaced by Dr. David Ross. Dr. Ross came to Guffey and met with Deputy Chief
Stanley and myself where we discussed EMT operations. No significant changes in
protocols are anticipated.
3. New Pumper project. Chairman Stanley has taken over as Project Manager for
this effort.
4. Ambulance Stationing: In order to reduce response time, we have moved our
ambulances to the outlying stations. The idea is that our EMTs will be able to
get them on the road faster and reduce the travel times to medical calls. We
will be monitoring the response times to determine whether or not there is an
improvement.
5. Six members of the Department have resigned due to inactivity. We have
recovered their radios and equipment. We still have some equipment to recover
from members who have not responded.
6. Medical Director’s Report
