EMT
Training Required:
Upon completion of the course and passing a
written test, students will be certified and Colorado-licensed EMT-Basic.

Personal Equipment costs:
Personal equipment such as
uniforms, flashlights, radios, and medical diagnostic equipment
are furnished by the department or available in the ambulances.
EMT's earn $1 for each hour of training and $2 for each callout
that can be redeemed at the end of the year for personal
equipment.
Time Commitment:
Students can sign a contract to
donate 500 hours of on-call time or remain active with the
department for three years to pay for the cost of the class
which is $750. Students who agree to the commitment above get
the class free. Other Costs:
All students must purchase
their own books for the EMT Basic class at a cost of about
$100.00.
